Whisper & Wax

❖

A society of secrets, discreetly delivered.

Each month, a wax-sealed envelope arrives bearing the next confidence of a Prohibition-era circle — letters addressed to you, artifacts worth keeping, and the passphrase to a members' room the public will never find. We keep the rooms small on purpose.

Membership is capped at 500 · When the rooms are full, new names join the waiting list

The First Edition

Pre-order the Founding Parcel

Season One opens on the 1st of November 2026. Reserve your number before the doors do.

The very first Whisper & Wax parcel — Chapter One, The Green Door — is wax-sealed and posted to the founding circle on the 1st of November 2026. Pre-order now to hold your place in the ledger and open the story from its first line.

100only

A secret welcome gift

Sent only to the first 100 who pre-order. What it is, we will not say — you will know it the moment the wax is broken. When the hundred are spoken for, it is gone for good.

First Edition · from £13 / month
Reserve My Number

Once you’re accepted, we’ll send word to confirm your founding number and tier before the 1st of November.

The Monthly Parcel

Four confidences, sealed in wax

Aged by hand. Never the same twice. Yours alone.

I

The Letter

A typed dispatch on aged stock, written to you by the circle's cast, carrying the month's chapter — and its quiet trouble.

II

The Ephemera

Discreet clippings, a members' card, a telegram, a hand-drawn map — the papers that make 1924 feel within reach.

III

The Keepsake

A collectible worth holding — an enamel emblem, a struck token, a key — composed as a set only members complete.

IV

The Members' Room

A passphrase within the letter opens a private room: a curated recording, a nightly broadcast, and further confidences.

How One Is Admitted

Discretion, by design

We would rather be quietly known than widely advertised.

I

Leave your name

Request admission or accept a member's invitation. Founding places are offered first; the rest join a waiting list.

II

Receive the oath

Your first envelope inducts you — a members' card, the season's dossier, and the passphrase to the room.

III

Stay a while

A new confidence arrives each month. Extend a single invitation of your own, should you find someone worthy.

Season One

The Blind Tiger

A shipment has slipped off the lake road. A rival house is testing the district's locks, an alderman keeps the wrong company, and a federal man has begun to ask for you by name. Across six chapters you will trade letters, follow the map, and choose whom to trust — light on ciphers, rich in atmosphere. Arrive at any chapter; a Latecomer's Dossier brings you current the moment you're admitted.

Spoken Quietly

Among the members

Every other subscription I let lapse. This one I read by candlelight and tell no one about.

— A Made Member, New York

I gifted it to my sister. Now we spend Post Day on the telephone arguing over who the piano man really is.

— A member of some standing

The seal, the paper, the weight of it. I have not opened mail this deliberately since my own wedding.

— The Proprietor, Chicago
Before You Knock

A few discreet questions

Is this a puzzle I must keep pace with?

No. It is atmosphere and correspondence first. The letters read as a serial; any ciphers are optional and gentle. Enjoy it with a drink in hand and no obligation.

May I join mid-season?

Yes. A Latecomer's Dossier brings you current, then you step straight into the present chapter. No one begins behind.

How do I take my leave?

At any time, from your own account, with a reminder before each renewal. No telephone calls, no maze.

Is admission truly limited?

Yes. Membership is capped so the rooms stay small and the correspondence stays personal. When full, new names are held on the waiting list until a place opens.

Is there any alcohol?

None is sold or shipped. You will receive cocktail cards and the culture of the era; the sipping is your own affair, and strictly 18 and over.
